Serena Williams Remarkable Auctioned Sports Memorabilia
Serena Williams’s infamous broken racket from her tumultuous United States Open final against Naomi Osaka in 2018 was up for sale as a unique piece of sports memorabilia in 2019.
While tennis players have a history of smashing rackets in moments of anger, none have garnered as much attention as the Wilson Blade racket destroyed by Williams during that particular match. The incident resulted in a lost point, sparking a heated argument with the chair umpire and eventually leading to a game penalty. Williams went on to lose the match, triggering a controversial discussion about sexism, racism, and rules enforcement in tennis.
Goldin Auctions has put the shattered racket up for sale, with bidding starting at $2,000 in May 2022. However, experts predict that the price will escalate to five figures before the auction closes on December 7. Ken Goldin, the founder of Goldin Auctions, believes that the final bid could range from $10,000 to as much as $25,000 or $50,000.

I have been collecting memorabilia for half of my life. I started very small with a few trading cards and since then I am more and more interested in the subject. I read a lot in Facebook groups, collect especially Jordan memorabilia. I'm happy if you like my content.
